Do These 3 Things If You Want to be Productive and Thrive

Why is it essential for you to create boundaries?

What is the benefit of considering what you create and allow within your organization, home, and relationships?

The answer is simple -- your boundaries create the conditions for yourself (and those around you) to thrive.

As Dr. Henry Cloud says, “a leader’s boundaries…actually make it possible for people’s brains to function as they were designed.”

The field of neuroscience confirms that we need boundaries to function correctly.

And proper functioning requires that we honor our three executive functions.

We need to understand what to attend to (know what to focus on), inhibit (know what not to do), and remember (access relevant information).

And when we create an environment that honors these three executive functions, we position ourselves (and our teams) to perform optimally.

In this week’s Level Up Your Legacy podcast, we discussed the importance of the executive functions of the brain and ways to begin implementing them into your everyday life.

In addition, we had an engaging discussion around the topic of “Leading so brains can work.”

Please take a few minutes to check it out.

And as you walk through your day today, consider if you are setting the climate for your team to perform optimally.
