Dr. Richard Swenson famously described margin as, "the space between our loads and our limits." In margin, you find time to do what feeds your soul, take care of yourself, and breathe from the stress and demands of life.
Do you have margin in your life?
When you fail to create margin, you become overwhelmed and stressed out. And stress has some severe consequences on your health and functioning.
Is work-life balance even possible in today's world?
We all feel the challenge of making our personal life and our work-life function together in harmony. To call this a struggle is an understatement -- especially given the work-from-home culture that many of us function in daily.
I've coached countless numbers of people around work-life balance for years -- and each time, people are surprised by how simple it is to make significant differences just by implementing small changes.
The ONE thing that will boost mood, motivation + productivity
According to the Harvard Business Review It states, “Of all the things that can boost emotions, motivation, and perceptions during a workday, the single most important is making progress in meaningful work.”
How to deal with the stress of balancing work and home
Do you deal with the constant stress of balancing work demands placed on with your responsibilities at home? When you are at home, do you constantly think about things you need to get done at work? And when you are at work, do your thoughts often drift to something you need to tend to at home? Do you say "yes" to any favor or request that's asked of you, even if it's interrupting something you were looking forward to during your personal time?
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
So, you want to be more productive at the end of the day! We all do -- but how do you actually get more done? And better yet, how do you stay focused on completing what's most important?
These are vital questions to answer, especially if you aim to achieve success, build a legacy, and honestly feel good about yourself at the end of the day.
Did you know that WHO you spend your time with matters?
How to flip the script on your fear
Fear -- we all struggle with it.
I've struggled with fear for the majority of my life.
Here's what I've learned about fear--
Fear can propel you forward -- or keep you stuck.
Fear can motivate you into bold action -- or it can cause you to shrink back and miss the moment.
One of my favorite quotes from all time comes from Teddy Roosevelt's speech, "Citizenship in a Republic." In it, he profoundly states the opportunity fear provides to dare greatly. Here's what Mr. Roosevelt says...
One simple hack to help determine your priorities
The world is full of things to do -- but how do you know what's best to do?
The answer lies in the word priorities. Our priorities should determine how we spend our time.
A great leader understands and works toward their priorities.
A great leader knows that he or she can do anything, but shouldn't do everything.
Are you living according to your priorities?
Are you a "CAN thinker" or a "CAN'T thinker"?
Your mindset will either make or break you.
Mindset is one of the most common items we coach around in our organization.
Questions like -- “How do you feel about yourself?” or “What value judgments are you making about yourself?” reveal underlying mindsets that significantly affect your heart, mind, and functionality.
The BEST long-range planning depends on this...
The decisions you make TODAY are your most critical decisions.
By being fully present and completely aware of the control you have in each moment, you are choosing to wield your best influence over the future. To say this another way, the decisions you make today are what's influencing your tomorrow.
You may not feel ready, but you are ready enough
One vital technique to overcome fear... 😳
The average person has between 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. 80% of those thoughts are negative. And of the 80% of negative thoughts people have, 95% of them are repetitive.
That statistic shows me that many of us struggle with fear and negativity.
Of the 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts YOU have each day, how many contain fear?
Legacy Quotes | Steve Jobs -- and how to tell if you're in the right career...
We're all daytraders, not just the experts who ply their trade in the stock market. Think about it. What is your life? Your life is your time. And if your life is your time, then what are you trading your time for each day? The truth is every day, you and I exchange our time for a whole host of pursuits from eating, to surfing the internet, to volunteering, to watching TV, to hobbies, to exercise, and yes, to our jobs.
And how do you determine whether or not you are getting a good return on investment for those activities? I measure my return rate based on the level of fulfillment, purpose, and joy I receive. I know I'm getting a good return on investment if by doing these activities, that I am more...ALIVE to life itself.
How often do you procrastinate?
Why you must not forget the past...

When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone?
“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.” -John Maxwell
When was the last time you stepped outside of your comfort zone?
I stepped outside of my comfort zone by hosting my first ever webinar yesterday. And you know what? Every time I make a decision to push myself outside my comfort zone to grow, I ALWAYS come away from those experiences so grateful that I stretched myself!
How important is face-to-face communication to you? 👀
This past year has taught me just how vital face to face interactions are to me.
All through 2020, most of the courses I taught and the coaching sessions I hosted were virtual. Whether these sessions were conducted over the phone, on Zoom, Teams, Stream Yard, or Youtube, I'm thankful for the technology that made it possible.
However, I genuinely miss this one element of the pre-Covid 2020's — face to face communication.
