Don't you love to hear "Job well done"? -- I do.
It's satisfying and exciting to take an idea or task across the finish line. The harvest after a season of hard work is always sweet.
But what happens when that harvest is still a long way off?
The days in between planting and harvest are much less celebrated.
I like to garden. And as I garden, I'm reminded of a universal life principle: that time and hard work lead to accomplishment.
Consider how long it takes a seed to grow to maturation. On average, most vegetable garden seeds take about three months to mature — with asparagus taking up to 720 days to mature!
Long before you enjoy what you've grown, there are days of hard work to invest. You must plant, water, weed, prune, fertilize, and just plain old wait hoping that the harvest will one day come. And sometimes, that can take a long time — consider the patience of an asparagus farmer!
There is only one way to have more harvest -- and that is to plant more seeds.
What if you focused less on the final product and more on consistency in planting? What if you saw success in the sowing instead of the savoring?
Today, you may not see the results of all of your hard work -- you may not experience the joy of the harvest.
However, you can experience the satisfaction of sowing more seeds in hopes of an even greater harvest.
With time and hard work, your seeds will grow.
Keep planting seeds every day.
