Be careful! What takes root, takes over

Do you have a hobby or something that you are passionate about?

I'm not much of a "hobby" person, but I do have a few things in life that I am slightly obsessive about -- and one of them is my front lawn.

There is just something about coming up my driveway and seeing a beautiful, lush, well-manicured, and geometrically mowed lawn. I know I'm not alone on this one. I've talked to too many guys who share this obsession. It just inspires me and makes me happy to look at it.

And I don't just mow my lawn. I fertilize it, aerate it, vacuum it, and lime it. I want to do everything I can do to make it thrive and look fantastic.

This is why the insidious and ever-growing presence of Clover in my grass over the past few years makes me crazy, and I have gone to great lengths to eradicate it.

I did this because I've discovered that what takes root takes over.

It's true for weeds (I know that Clover is not technically a weed, but when it shows up in my grass in might as well be!), and it's true in many other areas of life as well. This is especially true when it comes to our habits, both good and bad.

In the video clip below, I share a powerful story about the strength of our habits that have taken root. Check it out!

Afterward, consider what habits you need to either root out or allow to take root today.
