If you battle with seasonal depression like I do, this might help

If you know me at all, you know that I really struggle with depression during January and February pretty much every year. It's like clockwork.

I mean, I don't get it. There's so much sunshine and blue skies in Northwest PA during these two months…and the days are long as well…NOT!

I struggle with motivation, setting goals, getting out of bed. Some days I feel like I just force and push my way through each day. Can you relate?

So what do you do about that? Well, I'm not about to proclaim that there is some magic pill that you can take, but I have learned over the years that when I go through these seasons, I must be very intentional about maintaining particular habits. So this is a routine that I have learned that I must keep to help me overcome the seasonal blues.

I've learned that I absolutely MUST maintain my habit of personal growth. In addition, I've found that setting aside time every day to read, listen to podcasts, and place myself into learning environments that inspire me with new vision and ideas is vital.

In those seasons when I can't seem to generate these vital sources of fuel as a leader, I've learned that I need to borrow them from someone else to help me recalibrate for a new year.

If you are at a point in your life where you lack motivation, your energy levels are at a low, or your emotions are sagging, I have something that might help.

On Friday, February 18, 2022, I'm hosting a full day of leadership teaching and vision casting. I'll be hosting this event at the newly remodeled and technologically revitalized meeting room at Cox and Kanyuck Electric in Meadville. Together, we will watch the Live2Lead Conference (featuring John MaxwellJamie Kern-LimaValorie BurtonJeff Henderson, and Ed Mylett), share a complimentary catered meal, and network together to sharpen and encourage one another.

When I first previewed this conference back in November, I was blown away by this year's speakers. To say that they were inspiring is an understatement. Their relevance and creative insight into the current culture of leadership were unprecedented. For instance, I know that you will find Jeff Henderson's talk on being FOR your client and community -- to be a true game-changer. He predicts that every company's current (and future) success will depend on this shift in thinking. I can't wait for you to hear his insight!

This event will be a perfect way to kick off the new year with fresh ideas, renewed vision, and building some new leadership connections.
