There are so many great books to read and so little time!
There are so many great books to read -- how do you know where to start? If you’re like me, going to Amazon to look for an excellent book is like opening up Pandora’s box. It’s like getting sucked into a black hole from which you fear you might not return. It can be overwhelming.
And “overwhelm” is one of the most significant challenges I tackle with my coaching clients. Heck! It’s one of the biggest challenges I face in my own life. Why? Well, when you feel overwhelmed and not sure where to start, you freeze. You assume the fetal position. You stay stuck. You retreat and choose to do nothing.
If that is how you feel, I want to help you get UNstuck, especially when it comes to reading because reading is a vital discipline for growing people.
I’m going to use my blog to do two specific things that might be helpful to you.
First, I’m going to share the books I’m reading this year. Maybe this will give you some ideas for what you might want to read. One of the things I do at the beginning of each year is to list the top books I want to read. This helps me say “Yes” to the books that I have chosen as the most important for any given year and say “No” to a bunch of really great books that I don’t have the time to read.
Second, I will shoot a quick video each week recapping key chapters of each of these books and share the cliff notes of the ideas that I have found most valuable.
Hopefully, this will provide you with some ideas of what to read and even save you some time if you cannot read the whole book.
It will also allow us to learn and grow together, which will be awesome.
The first book that I’ll be diving into is “Ego Is The Enemy” by Ryan Holiday.
It’s available on amazon or audible (audiobook) if you want to dig in as well.
If you read the book and share some feedback with me, your feedback may make it into an upcoming newsletter!
I’m diving into it now -- so be on the lookout for some updates coming soon.
I hope this book study helps sharpen you -- while encouraging you never to stop growing.
For your growth,
Bill
