Aristotle famously articulated, "Criticism is something you can avoid easily by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing."
Do you believe it?
Criticism is inevitable for those who want to live a legacy life. Doing anything of significance will always make you a target.
If you want to be a difference-maker, others will fault you. They will misunderstand you, challenge you, and make you question yourself. However, I hope that when criticism comes (and yes, it will come), it will serve to reinforce the difference you are trying to make.
The truth is, you only get one shot at life. Your time is limited, and the window where you can make a difference in the world is ever closing. This begs that you steward each of your most precious resources (your time, energy, opportunity, and relationships) well.
What will you choose to do with the one and only life that you have been given?
Will you set out to change the world -- leaving it better than you found it? I hope so! But be prepared for criticism. Don't let it stifle or silence you because criticism certainly comes as you aim toward living a life of significance.
Those on a mission to make their one and only life count leave a lasting positive legacy.
What else could be more significant to leave behind?
