How do you want to show up today?
I use this question frequently in coaching because I love its power to challenge your thinking and reset your mindset.
Imagine how different your life would be if you asked this question every day before work. How would your meetings, interactions, and email responses look different through this lens of self-reflection? So how do you want to show up at work?
Imagine how different your life would be if you asked this question at home -- with your family, kids, and significant others. How different would mealtimes be -- or those sacred moments before bed and as you wake up in the morning? So how do you want to show up at home?
Last, think about this question's impact on your relationships. Consider how this question would increase your influence and improve your connections. So how do you want to show up as a friend or neighbor in this situation?
At the core of this question is a choice.
You get to choose how you want to show up. And your choice is a decision pointing to who you are becoming - and the legacy you are building.
Ralph Waldo Emerson says, "The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be."
So, how do you want to show up today? Who are you deciding to be?
You hold the power to choose - and each choice made with intentionality shapes you into the person you hope to become.
